A road was sealed off by the emergency services after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Wallasey.
Police and paramedics were called to Cliff Road at around 2.35pm today, after a man was struck by a Toyota Carina.
Merseyside Police said the man, who is in his 70s, was taken to hospital for treatment of suspected leg and head injuries.
The extent of his injuries is yet to be confirmed by police.
The road was cordoned off earlier this afternoon but has since been reopened.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene, police said.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "We are investigating after a male pedestrian was in collision with a car in Wallasey.
"We were contacted at 2.35pm today, Wednesday 26th May, following reports the man, who is in his 70s, was in collision with a Toyota Carina on Cliff Road.
"The man has been taken to hospital for treatment for suspected leg and head injuries.
"The driver of the car stopped at the scene.
