Man rushed to hospital after being hit by bus on Uddingston road

A man has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a bus on a Lanarkshire road.

The crash happened at around 4.25pm yesterday (Sunday, September 19) on Main Street in Uddingston.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Monklands for treatment.

Main Street was closed by officers for more than an hour following the collision as emergency services dealt with the incident, the Daily Record reports.

The extent of the pedestrian's injuries is not currently known at this time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a road crash, involving a male pedestrian and a bus, on Main Street in Uddingston around 4.25pm on Sunday, 19 September, 2021.

“The 52-year-old male pedestrian was taken to University Hospital Monklands for treatment and the road was re-opened around 5.30pm.”
