Man rushed to hospital after being hit by a lorry

A man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a lorry.

Emergency services were called to Woodchurch Road, close to the junction with Northwood Road , at around 4.20pm to reports that a male pedestrian had been knocked door.

Police officers in the area closed the road from The Halfway House pub to the car showroom.

Paramedics are believed to have tried to treat the man at the scene before he was taken to hospital in serious condition.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We are currently in Prenton following a road traffic collision this afternoon, Thursday, 11 April.

"Officers were called to Woodchurch Road, near its junction with Northwood Road at around 4.20pm to reports a male pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a lorry.

"Emergency services attended and the man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Heartless burglars target nursery  

"A road closure is currently in place on Woodchurch Road between and motorists are asked to avoid the area."
