Man rushed to hospital after being found with stab wounds on Royston Road

A man has been rushed to hospital after being found with stab wounds on Royston Road in the north of Glasgow.

Police raced to the scene after the 41-year-old man was discovered at the back of the Garngad pub at around 9.45pm last night (Saturday).

Officers describe him as having sustained 'serious injuries' and he was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police have now launched an appeal for information following the attack.

A statement released today (Sunday), said: "Police at Maryhill are continuing enquiries and appealing for information after a man was found with serious injuries in Royston Rd, Glasgow on Saturday, 4 January, 2020.

"Around 9.45 pm on Saturday, 4 January the 41-year-old man was discovered with stab wounds in Royston Road near to the rear of the Garngad public house.

"He was taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for stab wounds."

Detective Alistair Donaldson at Maryhill CID added: "We are still trying to establish the motive and exact circumstances surrounding this incident and are reviewing CCTV in the area.

"Anyone who was in the area of Royston Road around 9.45 pm last night and may have witnessed a disturbance of some sort is asked to contact police immediately."

Anyone with information should contact police at Maryhill via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 3539 of 4 January 2020.  Alternatively calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
