Man rushed to hospital after being attacked in east end street

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was found injured in the east end.

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene on Alexandra Parade this morning. He was taken to the Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The severity of his condition is not yet known.

Police have cordoned off the area as they investigate the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Police enquiries are ongoing in Alexandra Parade after a man was assaulted there earlier this morning. Police were not called at the time of the assault, so we are working to establish the circumstances.

"The injured man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Officers are following a positive line of enquiry."
