Man rushed to hospital after being assaulted in Maryhill street

A man has been taken to hospital after being assaulted in a street in Maryhill.

Emergency crews attended and police locked down Murano Crescent after receiving the report at around 4:55pm this evening.

The man is currently being treated at the Royal Infirmary. His condition is not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "It was around 4:55pm, police were called to a report of a man being assaulted on Murano Crescent. He has been taken to the Royal Infirmary.

"Police are at the scene and enquiries are ongoing."
