Man rushed to hospital after assault in Possilpark street

A man has been rushed to hospital for treatment after being assaulted in the Possilpark area of Glasgow yesterday evening.

Emergency services attended the scene on Allander Street on the corner of Ardoch Street at around 6.15pm yesterday after receiving reports of the disturbance. Police officers cordoned off a large section of the road, near the Possilpark Library, to all vehicles and pedestrians.

The man has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment where his condition is not currently known at this time.

Police Scotland have confirmed that they were in attendance at the scene in the north of Glasgow and that investigations into the incident are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 6.15pm on Wednesday, 22 July, 2020 we received a report of an assault at Allander Street, Glasgow.

"A man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary Hospital for treatment.

"Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing."
