Man rushed to Dublin hospital with serious injuries following assault

A man has been rushed to a Dublin hospital after sustaining serious injuries in an assault.

Gardai attended an incident outside a property in Castletown Road, Dundalk at approximately 8:30pm on Wednesday evening. A man, aged in his mid 30s, was seriously injured as a result of the incident.

He was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda by ambulance for treatment. The man has since been transferred to the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
