The 36-year-old man was driving southbound about 2:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of North Narragansett Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt a pain, Chicago police said. He then pulled over into a parking lot of Dunk’n, 6336 W. North Ave. and pleaded for help.

The man was rushed to the Loyola University Medical Center with gunshot wound to the chest, police said. He is in critical condition.
