Man robs Pukekohe liquor store with knife

An armed man threatened a liquor store worker with a knife before stealing cash in Pukekohe.

Police are investigating the aggravated robbery of Kiwi Liquor.

At about 2.45pm today the man entered the store on Manukau Rd and threatened the attendant with a knife.

He then stole cash and ran through the back of commercial property and on to Harris Rd, police said.

"The store attendant was thankfully not injured during the robbery," said Detective Sergeant Steve Williamson.

"The man was wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up and had a light bandana over his face."

Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw someone matching this description running in the direction of Harris Rd is being urged to contact Counties Manukau Police on (09) 261 1300. Or, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
