Man robbed in Gold Coast hotel room

A 42-year-old man was robbed Thursday in Gold Coast on the Near North Side.

About 12:30 a.m., he arranged online for a male to meet him at his hotel room in the 600 block of North Lake Shore Drive, Chicago police said. Once the male arrived at his room, he pulled out a taser and demanded the man’s personal property before fleeing.

No one was injured, police said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
