Man returned to prison following public appeal

A man has been arrested by police and taken back to prison.

Avon and Somerset Police launched an appeal to trace Lee Gardner who was wanted for on recall to prison.

A spokesman for the force confirmed the 37-year-old, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Sunday (September 22) at around 6:30pm.

He said: "We've arrested a man wanted on recall to prison.

"Officers arrested  Lee Gardner, 37, of no fixed abode, in Jamaica Street, Bristol at 6.30pm on Sunday 22 September. He has now been transferred to the prison service.

"We'd like to thank everyone who called with information or shared our appeal to trace him."
