Man restrained outside Wetherspoons pub banned from shop

A man is banned from a Kingswood shop after smashing wine bottles and attacking a police officer.

Wetherspoons door staff had to restrain Ariel Jelen outside the Kingswood Colliers pub on Regent Street after he damaged items from the nearby International Store.

The 33-year-old, of London Street, admits causing criminal damage and assaulting a special constable on July 17.

Around seven police vehicles attended Regent Street at about 9.30pm following reports of a brawl near the pub.

An Avon and Somerset police spokeswoman said: "On arrival police found a man being restrained by door staff and a member of the public, having reportedly smashed bottles in a nearby shop.

"No one came forward to officers at the scene to report being assaulted."

Jelen was then arrested for intentionally damaging bottles of wine from the International Store and assaulting SC Suffolk.

He was ordered to do 40 hours of unpaid work when he appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on August 21.
