Man rescued from docks after falling into the water

The emergency services rescued a man from the water at Canning Dock.

The coastguard, police, fire and ambulance were all called to the waterfront at around 3.15am today ( Saturday) following reports that a man had fallen into the water.

Firefighters used a dinghy-type vessel to reach the man and carry him to safety.

A spokesperson for Liverpool coastguard said that the man was rescued from Canning Dock and then passed to paramedics.

No further information was available on his condition.

Wirral and Crosby coastguard both took part in the rescue.
