Man rescued by emergency crews after car crashes into garden and shuts road off

A man was 'rescued' by fire crews and assessed by paramedics after a car hit a fence - pushing another car into the garden of a house.

Emergency services were called to Cherry Lane in Sale, Trafford, earlier tonight - Saturday.

It's not known whether the man - or anyone else - was injured in the incident.

The Manchester Evening News has contacted Greater Manchester Police for comment.

Fire crews were at the scene for two hours.

The road was closed as a result at the junction with Hurst Avenue, according to Transport for Greater Manchester.

Emergency services were called at 6.20pm.

Two fire engines from Sale and Altrincham stations attended together with a specialist fire service rescue unit.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "At around 6.20pm this evening (Saturday 16 October) we were alerted to an incident on Cherry Lane, Sale, involving a car that had collided with a fence and caused another vehicle to be pushed into a domestic property.

"Two fire engines from Sale and Altrincham fire stations were quickly at the scene, joined by the Technical Response Unit from Ashton.

"Firefighters rescued one man from a vehicle who was then assessed by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.

"Crews made both vehicles safe and remained at the scene for around two hours before departing."

The road was reopen by 9.30pm. No further details have been revealed.
