Man rescued by air ambulance after falling 15 metres from a rock in Ilkley

A 30-year-old man was rescued by the Air Ambulance in Ilkley on Sunday (28/04) evening after falling 15 metres from a rock near the Cow and Calf pub.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service received a call at 18:03 on Sunday evening amid reports that a man had taken a fall from a height, and the service deployed an ambulance with an emergency care practitioner.

The mountain rescue team and the air ambulance were also in assistance, and the male was then taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance with reported head and pelvis injuries.

The service are yet to provide an update on the condition of the male after his fall.

Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, Cave and Mountain Rescue said that the male was unconscious upon their arrival, before they assisted in his extraction to Leeds.
