A man was helped by fire crews after getting his hand stuck in the light fitting at the back of his car.

The man, in his 30s, got his hand trapped while trying to change a bulb.

Avon Fire and Rescue officers called to the incident, in Weston-super-Mare on Saturday, used a saw and other small gear to free him.

Fire crews eventually managed to rescue the man (Avon Fire and Rescue)

The firefighters tweeted that they provided "humanitarian assistance" to the man.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue said: "Our rescue pump crew have provided humanitarian assistance to a gentleman with his hand stuck inside a car cluster light, whilst performing maintenance."

They added: "Successfully released with only a minor injury. #Stn18Red#NotJustFires"
