
A man has been rescued after his boat capsized off the coast of Newcastle on Tuesday.
Newcastle Water Police were called to waters off Stockton about 11.40am amid reports that a runabout boat encountered trouble on its way back to shore and was sinking.
Police found the skipper and sole occupant of the vessel, a 41-year-old man, clinging to the overturned boat.
He was returned safely to Newcastle harbour and did not require medical assistance.
The vessel was not able to be salvaged.
