Man reportedly assaulted and robbed after finding stranded car near Thorsby Hall

A man was allegedly assaulted and robbed in a dark country lane after coming to help a stranded car. Police said a man in his fifties was attacked after coming across a stranded car near Thorsby Hall, Ollerton at around 7pm on Sunday, October 24.

After stopping at the western end of Netherfield Lane, he was reportedly set upon by a group of young men who stole his wallet, phone, sunglasses and some jewellery. He taken to hospital to be treated for cuts and bruises.

Detectives investigating what happened would like to speak to anyone who saw a small white car and a Volvo SUV in the area at around the time of the incident. Detective Sergeant Matt Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was distressing incident for the victim and we determined to track down anyone who was involved.
