Man repeatedly stabbed outside Paisley hotel as cops swoop on street rammy

A man was rushed to hospital after he was repeatedly stabbed outside a Paisley hotel.

The 28-year-old suffered several puncture wounds in the incident, which happened outside the Motel Air in Inchinnan Road.

Police and ambulance crews raced to the scene after reports of a major disturbance close to the building.

The seriously injured man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital’s A&E department where he was treated for his injuries.

It’s understood his wounds are serious but not life threatening.

Cops sealed off a large section of the street in front of the hotel as they probed the incident.

They carried out door-to-door enquiries in the area and checked for CCTV opportunities as forensics officers scoured the roadway for clues.

A shocked passerby, who witnessed the aftermath of the incident, described seeing a massive police presence in the area shortly after the attack took place.

He said: “There were police everywhere, it looked really, really serious.

“There must have been six or seven police cars at the scene and a large area in front of the hotel was taped off.

“It looked like the officers were focusing on the area in front of the hotel, they had that taped off to anyone coming and going.

“Police were speaking to people coming in and out.

“It was quite dramatic, there was a huge response from the police.”

She said: “We received a report of a disturbance on Inchinnan Road, Paisley, around 8.40pm on Thursday.

“A 28-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with non-life threatening
injuries.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
