Man renovating house finds box with 'do not release' carved into it hidden behind wall

A man who has been renovating his house and documenting his progress on Tik Tok made a truly terrifying discovery bricked behind a wall in his attic.

The user @geebeetv was attempting to fill the gaps in the wall with insulation when he noticed something hidden between the bricks.

A small locked wooden box, with a pentagram carved on one side of the box, had the words ‘peidiwch ar ryddhau’ on it which translates to ‘do not release,’ NorthWalesLive reports.

One week later, while continuing renovating the room the man noticed a mirror in the corner that ‘rattled’ when he moved it, but the edges had been sealed shut.

Curiosity got the better of him so he took a hammer and smashed the glass - a move which according to superstition brings seven years of bad luck.

Behind the mirror, someone had hidden the key to the locked chest found earlier.

Some 25 million people have watched the videos, and according to their most recent clip, while hundreds of people warned the man to leave the box alone - others just like him were dying to see what was inside.

Some ‘really strange’ objects were inside, including a small pendant necklace and a burned piece of a ouija board.

A lock of hair and a second key were also left inside the box - raising the question if there is a second key, is there a second box?

Thousands of people have commented on the various clips, with some calling the videos staged, while others are terrified by what they’ve seen.

One person said: “This is literally the plot to 99% of horror movies.”

Another said: “I would say breaking a mirror gives you seven years bad luck but I think that’s the least of your worries at this point”

“Literally translates to ‘don’t release’ PUT IT BACCCCKKK” a third added.

Another person joked: “now would be a good time to burn the whole house down.”
