Man remains in serious condition after car crashes into wall

A man remains in a serious condition in hospital after a car crashed into a wall in north Liverpool.

Emergency services were called out to Robson Street in the Everton area at around 1.40pm yesterday (Thursday) after reports that a Mitsubishi car had hit a wall.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A witness told the ECHO they heard a "loud bang" and raced out to the scene. They said they saw a man who was injured but conscious in the passenger seat of the car.

Another said they heard an "enormous crash'" and "threw their trainers on" and ran out to the scene.

Meanwhile one witness saw the fire service cutting the roof off the car, which had been heavily damaged to its passenger side, which appeared to have taken the brunt of the crash.

Police closed Robson Street while emergency workers dealt with the scene.

The force appealed for anyone who saw the incident or was passing and has any dashcam footage or information to contact police via @MerPolCC on Twitter or 'Merseyside Police Contact Centre' on Facebook with reference 520 of 11 March.
