Man receives strange handwritten letter accusing restaurant owner of an affair

A man was left baffled when he received a bizarre letter through his letterbox accusing a local restaurant owner of an affair.

The anonymous man said he was scrolling on his phone late one night when his Ring doorbell alerted him that someone was at the door.

"The alert scared the ever-loving s**t out of me," he said, but when the app showed a "random hooded and masked person" at his front door, he was understandably spooked.

When they'd left, he went to see what all the fuss was about, and saw that the mysterious postman had delivered a letter, reports Daily Star.

But if that's not weird enough, the bizarre letter was an accusation of an affair against a local restaurant owner, he claims.

The confused homeowner posted a picture of the letter on Reddit and captioned it: "Got an alert on my Ring doorbell at half eleven last night.

“Somebody posting this through the door…"

The letter read: "Hello my fellow [redacted].

"My name is [redacted].

"I am a victim of abuse and have been ill-treated and cheated on by an unsavoury character.

"His name is [redacted]. He is the owner of the [redacted] restaurant in [redacted].

"A British/Pakistani national, he is a married man with children.

"He has cheated on his loyal wife on numerous occasions and has not kept his promises to me during our long secret relationship for one year and a half.

"All of promises he could not keep.

"My advice is to vulnerable women out there to be aware of this man and to avoid his manipulative ways so he can not get away with hurting other women like myself.

"The cheating and the lies."

In the comments, he later revealed that the letter had been sent to all of his neighbours too.

Reddit users were quick to share their thoughts on the note, with many saying they thought the culprit was a competing restaurant owner.

One person said: "Love the random sentence at the end like it’s the title of the next chapter," to which the original poster jokingly replied: "Like Bridgerton if it was 21st century eh?"

Another put: "We've been left on a cliffhanger."

"Has a new restaurant opened up nearby that one by any chance?" asked a third.

Someone else wondered the same and said: "Odds on for this being the owner of a competing restaurant."

"It actually could well be," said the original poster. "The person posting it was wearing a mask and had their hood up on their raincoat despite it being dry out."

Another user couldn't help but add: "I’ll bet they were hiding their chef whites and chef’s hat under their coat."
