Man receives facial injuries after bust-up with hammer wielding gang in Finglas, Dublin

A man has received facial injuries after a broad daylight bust-up with gang of males wielding a hammer in Dublin.

Paramedics rushed to the scene to treat the victim at around 12pm on Tuesday.

The dispute broke out on Cardiffsbridge Road, Finglas West.

Gardai attended the scene and arrested a man, in his 30s, for possessing an offensive weapon.

The suspect was detained before being charged. Gardai say he will appear before Blanchardstown District Court at a later date.

A spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror: "Today Tuesday 28th January 2020 at approximately 12pm, Gardaí responded to a call of a dispute between numerous males at Cardiffsbridge Road, Finglas West, Dublin 11.

"One man was treated at the scene by paramedics for a facial injury. A man in his early 30s was arrested for Possession of an Offensive Weapon and detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

"He has since been charged and will appear before Blanchardstown District Court at a later date."
