Drivers had to take evasive action when a car sped through Larkhall on the wrong side of the road.
Michael Francis, 28, of Shawlands Crescent, Shawsburn, was banned from the roads for two years at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.
He admitted driving dangerously on various roads, having no insurance and failing to stop for the police on April 22.
Francis was also ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid community work.
