Man receives £90 fine after spitting towards door staff at Rock City

A man who spat and threatened door staff after being ejected from Rock City has been given a £90 fine.

Police were called to the Talbot Street venue on Saturday, August 1 at 10.45pm.

A police van and several officers arrived outside the main entrance of the nightclub over the actions of a 21-year-old man.

Police said he spat towards a member of door staff and made a gesture to punch another after being ejected from the nightclub.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

He has been given a penalty notice for drunken behaviour and will have to pay a fine of £90.

Police Constable Stuart Howe, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Door staff are there to keep everyone safe and they deserve to be able to do their job without the threat of violence or abuse.

"In this case we worked with the door staff involved to come to a conclusion which they were happy with.

"We will respond to any reports of this type of unacceptable behaviour and do all we can to ensure that it is dealt with."
