A man suffered a serious sexual assault on a cycle path near a leisure centre this morning.
The 36-year-old victim was raped on the path next to Ainslie Park Leisure Centre in Edinburgh ’s Pilton area.
Police are hunting the attacker, with the area around the crime scene cordoned off.
Several officers were carrying out searches on the path.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Edinburgh are investigating a report that a 36-year-old man was the victim of a serious sexual assault in the Pilton area in the early hours of the morning.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
