- Dawood Safi, a 28-year-old Afghan migrant, admitted to the manslaughter of dog walker Wayne Broadhurst, citing diminished responsibility due to a psychotic state.
- He also previously admitted wounding his landlord Shahzad Farrukh and causing actual bodily harm to a 14-year-old boy during the same incident in Uxbridge on 27 October 2025.
- The prosecution accepted the manslaughter plea for Mr Broadhurst after medical experts confirmed Safi was experiencing an "abnormality of mental functioning" and had lost contact with reality.
- Safi will still stand trial for the attempted murder of Mr Farrukh and the teenage boy, despite the acceptance of the manslaughter plea.
- Safi, who entered the UK in 2020 and was granted asylum in 2022, also pleaded guilty to one count of possessing an offensive weapon.
