A passenger was allegedly racially abused on a Merseyrail train - and now police are hoping to speak to two women who stepped in.
The alleged incident took place on a train from Liverpool Central station on the evening of Wednesday, July 22.
Two women intervened when a man, believed to aged around 60, allegedly began verbally abusing another passenger.
British Transport Police appealed for further information, sharing a statement which said: "The incident happened at around 6.28pm on Wednesday 22 July on the Liverpool Central to Hunts Cross service.
"A man is reported to have been verbally abused by another man before two women intervened.
"The suspect, a 60-year-old man from Liverpool, has been reported for the offence.
"Officers would like to speak to the two women who intervened to gain a further understanding of the incident."
