Man raced to hospital with serious injuries after 'disturbance' on Dundee street

A man has been seriously injured after a disturbance in Dundee.

Police were alerted to the incident on Torwood Place at around 1.45pm earlier today.

Emergency crews raced to the scene, where a 53-year-old man was found to have suffered serious injuries.

The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital where his condition has been described as serious but stable.

Police Scotland has arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with their ongoing probe into the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 1.45pm on Wednesday, 7 April, police were called to a report of a disturbance in Torwood Place, Dundee.

"Emergency services attended and a 53-year-old man was found seriously injured.

"He was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment and medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

"A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing."
