Man raced to hospital with head injuries following late night attack on Exchequer Street

A man was raced to hospital with head injuries after he was assaulted in the city centre last night.

The man, who is in his 20s, was attacked on Exchequer Street shortly after 10pm.

He was taken to St James's Hospital where is injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Another man has been arrested and is currently being detained at Kevin Street garda station.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an assault incident that occurred in the Exchequer Street area of Dublin 2 on 30/05/2021 at approximately 10.10pm.

"A man, aged in his 20s, received head injuries following a reported altercation with another man. He was taken to St. James Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"A man, also aged in his 20s, has been arrested in relation to this incident. He is currently detained at Kevin Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. Investigations are ongoing.
