A man was hospitalised following an assault in Dublin city centre last night.
Gardai are investigating the incident that occurred a little after 9 pm on Synge Street in Dublin 8.
The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to St James's Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
A garda spokesman said: "An examination of the scene has been carried out.
"No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Kevin Street Station 01 6669400."
