Man raced to hospital after face slashed in city centre

A man has been raced to hospital after his face was slashed in an attack in the city centre this evening.

Gardai and emergency services raced to the scene on Commons Street shortly before 9pm.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was taken to hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Shortly before 9pm on Sunday 22/8/2021, Gardaí from Store street and Ambulance services attended at Commons Street, Dublin 1 following reports of a stabbing incident.

"A man in his early 30s was taken to Hospital for treatment to a laceration to his face.

"His injures are not thought to be life threatening.

"The scene is currently being examined by local scenes of crime officers, no arrests have been made and enquires are ongoing.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Store Street Garda Station (01) 666 8002 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111."
