Man raced to Edinburgh hospital after falling from roof in Fife

A 63-year-old man has been raced to hospital after he fell from a roof in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

Locals spotted the air ambulance landing at a nearby school on Sunday afternoon as emergency services raced to the scene.

The incident is understood to have happened just after 1pm on Sunday (6 September).

Police Scotland said they were called to reports of a man who had fallen from a roof on Dunrobin road in Kirkcaldy.

The 63-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by road after medics decided to transport him by ambulance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Edinburgh Live : "Around 1.30pm on Sunday 6 September 2020, police were called to a report of a man having fallen from a roof in Dunrobin Road, Kirkcaldy.

"Emergency services attended and a 63 year old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary."

The air ambulance helicopter had landed at the nearby Strathallan Primary School, the nearest open space. It left the scene shortly before 4pm.

There was no update on the mans condition.
