A man punched a in the face after a group of activists stormed a Pizza Express restaurant.
Footage filmed by animal rights campaigners from Direct Action Everywhere shows the group heading into a branch of the chain restaurant with picture cards of animals.
Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is an which pushes to achieve the creation of a law requiring 'species equality'.
Bewildered diners look on as the group storm the restaurant lining up inbetween tables.
One woman chants through a loudspeaker while others shout 'It's not food, it's violence' and carry cards with 'I want to live' slogans.
A man confronts a female protester and says 'You're scaring these people, f*** off now.'.
He pushes the young woman who turns around to confront him, and then he punches her in the face.
Another protester squeezes inbetween the pair to break up the fight.
The furious man is then held back by other protesters in an attempt to calm him down.
More diners address the protesters while they continue to chant and shout out messages written on their placards.
The footage was posted on the official Facebook page of Direct Action Everywhere.
It followed with the statement: "We must stand together against speciesism, but some are not ready to hear our message of equality and justice.
'Today, whilst bringing this message to diners at the chain restaurant, we were violently attacked. It is not surprising that those consuming violence are quick to partake in it too.'
