A man punched and assaulted police officers before hiding in a garden.
Merseyside Police patrols spotted a vehicle that was "driving erratically" in Halewood on Saturday evening. Upon stopping the car, the driver decided to "punch and assault" two officers before running off.
Police confirmed police dog Willow was deployed and after a "prolonged search", the man was found hiding in a garden near a nearby housing estate. Emergency services were seen in the town on Saturday evening as many people took to social media to wonder what had happened.

Taking to social media, praising the work of police dog Willow, the Merseyside Police Dogs team said: "Tonight patrols in #Halewood stopped a vehicle driving erratically.
"The driver of the vehicle decided to punch and assault two of our colleagues before making off into a housing estate. PD Willow deployed and after a prolonged search found the said male hiding in gardens."
