Man punched 'multiple times' in the head in train station row

A man was repeatedly punched in the head following a rush-hour argument on the platform of a Merseyrail station .

It happened at Orrell Park station at around 5.30pm on Thursday, July 18.

British Transport Police (BTP) said the victim and another man had departed a train at the station and were heading towards the exit.

A heated argument broke out between the two men and the victim was punched several times to his head.

He suffered a cut to the left hand side of his face and eyebrow, requiring hospital treatment.

The suspect left the station in the direction of Orrell Lane.
