Man punched in the face outside Fusion nightclub in Liverpool city centre

A man was punched in the face outside a nightclub in Liverpool centre in a sickening attack.

Police said a man was assaulted outside Fusion nightclub on Fleet Street at around 5am on Thursday.

A spokesman said the man suffered facial injuries after he was punched in the face during an altercation with a second man.

The incident happened outside well known club Fusion.

A police spokesman said to the ECHO : "Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted outside Fusion Nightclub on Fleet Street in the early hours of Thursday morning (22nd July).

"The incident is reported to have occurred just before 5am when two men were involved in an altercation. The victim was allegedly punched, knocking him to the ground and resulting in facial injuries.

"The man did not receive medical attention but was understandably shaken by the incident.

"If anyone witnessed the incident or has any information that could help with our investigations, please get in touch by calling 101 or reporting on social media @MerPolCC quoting 21000509751."
