Man pulled from lake in Rogers Park dies: officials

Croslene Kettle died in Lake Michigan June 25, 2019.

A 64-year-old man died Tuesday after he was pulled from Lake Michigan in Rogers Park on the North Side.

Croslene Kettle was discovered unresponsive about 8:42 a.m. in the water at Tobey Prinz Beach in the 1000 block of West Pratt Boulevard, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He had gone swimming, and witnesses pulled him from the lake.

Kettle was taken to Saint Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later, authorities said.

Kettle’s death is not being investigated as a criminal incident, police said. An autopsy to determine his cause of death is pending.
