Man publicly shames girlfriend for spending half a decade in 'embarrassing' fast food job

A man has publicly shamed his girlfriend , branding her 'embarrassing' for working at a fast food chain for the last half a decade.

The boyfriend, identified only as James, 22, from Australia, spoke out on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, claiming his partner, Bridget, 23, had been an employee at Red Rooster for more than five years.

Despite the lengthy period of employment, James said his girlfriend has no desire to move on - something he finds particularly embarrassing as he comes from a ‘wealthy family’.

Speaking on the radio show, he said: “It’s a great place. But working there when you're 23 years old and you've been there for five years and you've got no ambition to go to uni or anything else is a bit embarrassing.

“My dad has been running a construction company for the past 30 years and it's been going really really well.

“I work for the family business. We just sold off a massive piece of land which we're building on - and he has put me in charge of it.”

He added that he regularly lies to friends when asked what Bridget does for a living - and the only position other than her current job he would be embarrassed about would be ‘prostitution’.

James said that his biggest concern with his other half working for Red Rooster is that she is 23 and wants to remain in her position.

He said that she doesn't want to move up the management structure ‘because she doesn't like the responsibility’.

James added: ‘I'd like her to have a job to be proud of’.

Other callers to the show named ‘dog walking and parking inspection’ as jobs they are embarrassed over.
