A man has died after being found on the tracks at Ayr station.
Emergency services raced to the scene at 11.02pm last night after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is not being treated as a suspicious, officials have confirmed today.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "British Transport Police were called to Ayr railway station at 11.02pm yesterday (11 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the procurator fiscal."
