Man praised for 'petty revenge' on plane passenger who kept knocking his seat

When travelling on a long haul flight, there's nothing more annoying than being seated near an obnoxious passenger. That's exactly what happened to one man when flying from Manila, in the Philippines, to San Francisco, in America.

He explained how the passenger seated behind him kept "stabbing" at her TV screen when selecting a movie - not caring how it impacted the person sitting in front of her. The man said on Reddit: "I had turned around in my seat about four times to ask another passenger to tap her touchscreen gently.

"She kept stabbing at the screen/headrest while giving no f***s. Each time I asked her to take care she just stared at me in silence. After the fourth time, she replied 'Just f***ing deal with it' and continued on. This was about one third of the way in on a 13 hour or so flight."

After stewing in his seat for a while, he came up with a plan to get "petty revenge" on the annoying passenger.

He added: "On my next bathroom break, I went up to the young man seated behind her and showed him a message I wrote on my notes app.

"It read 'The lady sitting in front of you is playing whack-a-mole with my headrest. I'll give you $50 (£40) when we land if you f*** with her for at least an hour'.

"He laughed and nodded. After about an hour later, I heard commotion behind me, 'Quit it, she said'."

Putting on an Oscar-worthy performance, the young man pretended to be asleep with his headphones in while purposely hitting her seat when readjusting.

"He just ignored her when she finally got up and tapped him (quite hard I might add), and he made a fuss about waking up in confusion, offered apologies, and continued on readjusting his feet every so often for what seemed like the rest of the flight," the man added.

"Upon exiting, I waited at the gate for him and he waved away my offer to pay him. Really nice guy."

While most users couldn't help but laugh at his revenge, others shamed the woman for being so unreasonable in the first place.

One user said: "That would have been worth the $50, I think I've had that woman sitting behind me before."

Another user added: "I have never had an issue after asking the person to please touch the screen gently. What a rude woman and perfect revenge."

A third user said: "Nice. Very petty, I love how humanity as a whole are 100 per cent down to be petty at a moment’s notice!"

One more user added: "When I was a flight attendant, I always said 'Remember that screen is attached to a seat with a human in it. It's a touch screen, not a punch screen'."
