Man praised after refusing to give up train seat for 'entitled' passenger

A train passenger has been praised for his response to an 'audacious' stranger who challenged him for asking to sit in the seat he had paid for. In a video that has since gone viral on TikTok, the man appeared to politely ask a woman sitting in his pre-booked seat to move.

The woman seated in his spot looked around the crowded train for another place before she agreed and stood up. However, at this point another bold passenger then called the man out and questioned his behaviour, the Mirror reports.

At the beginning of the exchange, the man told the woman in his seat: "My place is 103". When she looked around to find an empty seat, he continued: "It's gonna be difficult. My place is 103 and I need my place. I'm so sorry."

She then tells him she 'understands' and stood up to collect her items as another woman sitting in a nearby row interjected and shook her head at the male passenger. The clip's low audio quality makes it difficult to hear the intervening passenger's exact words but she appears to be questioning the man who reiterates 'it's my place' before asking her to calm down.

The clip which was uploaded by @mr_boris_becker has since racked in over seven million views and thousands of comments. One person replied: "No way they were getting upset at you asking for the place you bought."

Another commented: "The other girl should've minded her own business." A third said: "Obviously the train is full, so the man needs to get the spot he paid for."

Somebody else remarked: "Worse than her taking his place is the other woman trying to justify why he should look for another seat." A fifth person fumed: "THE AUDACITY THESE GIRLS HAVE".

Another TikToker agreed: "This happens all too often, entitled people thinking rules don't apply to them, then have the audacity to moan when confronted."
