Man plummets from flat window with two-year-old girl

A man and a two-year-old girl are in hospital after falling from a flat window in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 12:35pm in the Govanhill area of the city.

An ambulance took the pair to hospital to treat their injuries.

The 38-year-old man is in a serious condition while the girl is described as stable. It is not known how far they fell.

Police Scotland said in a statement: "At around 12.35pm on Monday, police were called to a report of a 38-year-old man and a two year-old girl having fallen from the window of a flat in Calder Street, Glasgow.

"They have been taken to hospital where they are being treated for their injuries.

"Hospital staff describe his condition as serious and the girl's condition is described as stable."

The Police's inquiries are currently ongoing into the circumstances leading to the incident.
