Man pleads not guilty to arson after house fire in Nottingham

A man has pleaded not guilty to arson by allegedly setting fire to a sofa in a house on Gladstone Street, Forest Fields  on Thursday, December 19.

John Newton, 28, of Eugene Gardens, Nottingham also denied having diamorphine and cocaine with intent to supply other people on June 30.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody.

District Judge Leo Pyle sent the case to Nottingham Crown Court. Newton is due to appear there on January 17.
