Man pleads not guilty over 'viral' road rage incident

The man at the centre of a violent road rage incident on the NSW Central Coast that went viral online has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge.

Clint Matthew Pollard, 41, briefly appeared in Wyong Local Court on Wednesday, charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Pollard, from Windermere Park, was charged after footage showing a man leaving a vehicle and approaching a woman before punching her in the face was shared widely on social media.

The footage, taken on a mobile phone, was given to police.

Police alleged the incident occurred at the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Elizabeth Bay Drive, Lake Munmorah, just after midday on July 24.

They said two vehicles, both utes, stopped and Pollard and the passenger in the second vehicle, Bianca Lee Sams, became involved in an argument before Pollard allegedly punched Sams in the face.

Pollard handed himself in to police two days later.

Sams, 21, was also charged over the incident, including charges of damaging property, being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, intentionally throwing an object at a vehicle, having part of her body outside the car window and not wearing a seatbelt.

She is due to appear in court on September 6.

Taylor Lea Bembridge, 23, the female driver of the ute in which the 21-year-old was travelling, was charged with driving in a manner dangerous to the public, not complying with a P licence, driving with an unrestrained passenger and damaging property.

Bembridge of Salt Ash, pleaded guilty to three offences and not guilty to the damaging property charge in Wyong Local Court on August 16 and will be sentenced next month.

Pollard was granted conditional bail and will reappear in court in October.
