A man accused of murdering a woman whose body was found in a Hobart home after a fire has pleaded not guilty.

The body of 39-year-old Alison Robinson was discovered in her house at Glenorchy in the city's northern suburbs on January 5.

David George Evans, 40, entered not guilty pleas to one count of murder and one count of arson on Thursday in Hobart Magistrates Court.

He was remanded in custody and will next appear in the Supreme Court of Tasmania on April 23.

He didn't enter pleas to charges of motor vehicle stealing and unlawfully setting fire to property.

Evans also pleaded not guilty to a swathe of other charges, including drug possession, driving without a licence and possessing a restricted substance.

Emergency services were called to the house shortly before 7am on January 5 after reports of a fire.
