A security guard has pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm after a one-year-old boy was shot in the head with an air rifle in Bristol.
Jordan Walters, 24, appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court alongside his 23-year-old fiancee, Emma Jane Horseman.
Harry Studley remains in a critical condition after suffering a serious head injury from an air-gun pellet on Friday evening.
The couple, from Bishport Avenue in Bristol, have both been charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
A police spokesman said: 'Harry Studley remains in a critical condition in Bristol Children's Hospital with a serious head injury after being shot by a pellet discharged from an air weapon."
'We've now charged two people in relation to the incident."
"They have been remanded in custody ahead of their appearance before magistrates."
Emergency crews were called to a flat in Bishport Avenue, Hartcliffe, at 4.10pm on Friday, after neighbours reported hearing a child "screaming and screaming".
Police said the boy's family, including parents Amy Allen and Edward Studley, were continuing to be given "all the help and support they need".
In a statement on Sunday, the parents said: “We very much appreciate the help and support of our family, friends and local community at this very difficult time.”
