A man has pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers in east London by spraying a substance at them, leaving them needing hospital treatment.

Terrance Nelson, 29, of Stratford, admitted two counts of assaulting a police officer by spraying them with "a substance" at Thames Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

He also admitted possession of a section 5 firearm.

The court heard officers from Met Police were called at 7.30pm on Thursday to reports of an argument at the defendant's address in Stratford.

Officers attended and Nelson was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.

Nelson will be sentenced on January 15 (Google Maps)

During the arrest he sprayed a substance at two police officers.

The officers did not sustain lasting injuries but did require hospital treatment.

Nelson will appear at the same court on Wednesday, January 15 pending pre-sentence reports.
