Man placed on sex register after having 'unnatural intercourse' with a dog at house in Perth

A 20-year-old Perth man, caught with a stash of extreme porn, some involving dogs, had his name added to the Sex Offenders’ Register at the sheriff court yesterday.

Ewan Cole, currently staying with his parents in St Andrews Street, will be sentenced on September 6 after background reports have been prepared.

He admitted having “unnatural intercourse” with a dog at a house in Stanley’s Manse Crescent on December 6, 2019, and also having child abuse images in his possession between December 11, 2019, and March 11, 2020.

He also pled guilty to a third charge of having extreme pornographic images at the Manse Crescent address between December 6, 2019, and March 11, 2020.

The charge stated that the images depicted - “in an explicit and realistic way” - a male having penetrative sex with a dog and a male performing a sex act on the animal.

A total of 10 “inaccessible” still images were recovered from the accused’s iPhone, seized by police when they went to his home, armed with a search warrant, at 7.40am on March 11, 2020.

Three were category A, five category B and two category C.

A total of 13 videos - five each category A and B and three category C - were also recovered.

Depute fiscal Lora Apostolova told the court the images depicted female and male children between the ages of approximately one and 13 years of age, participating in penetrative sexual activity with adults, and posing partially clothed.

The 13 videos had a total running time of 13 minutes and 47 seconds.

One of the videos in particular “appeared to include the accused,” added the fiscal.

Cole's lawyer Louisa Wade said: “He realises he has a problem and thinks he may have an adverse psychiatric disorder.”

He was freed on bail but special conditions were imposed banning him from being in the company of children under 16 - and dogs - without being accompanied by an adult.
